Becoming good at playing guitar takes practice and more practice.
Depending on how good you want to be or how much better you want to become will determine how much practice you decide to put in.
There is no magic bullet or substitute for practice.
You might learn very well by yourself but end up with habits that ultimately strangle your progress.
Why not make it easy on yourself and invest in good tuition. I did and it pays.
I highly recommend you get some additional tuition via DVD, books, etc and you will be amazed at how much faster you can progress.
